Awesome place with awesome sushi

Lovely local gem operated by a Japanese couple. The wife can speak English, and has English and Chinese menu available.Food is fresh, tasty and full of surprises - including flame-grilled mackerel in front of you!! Was gonna try the North pacific octopus but it was sold out... =(Items range around ¥500-1500, our family had lots (including beer) and totalled ¥2000 per person - very reasonable for the quality of food!!Definitely coming back next time when I visit Okinawa again =)Do take care that it is a relatively small place with around 20 seats, so it can take some time for food to arrive when it is full house.

It is a local restaurant where local people can eat really delicious sushi and sushi at mid price. However, it is a long time for the couple to run the food and the concept of izakaya is small and the store is small.

This was an amazing experience. The food was great, the sushi had a popular range and a perfect blend of wasabi. Above all, the service/owners were so hospitable and patient. Very kind and willing to have such friendly conversation and pose for pictures! It was a wonderful experience.

Very nice hosts and great food. Sashimi was very fresh and the porkribs are wonderful.

The owners are very friendly and open towards foreigners. The place might be a bit touristy but the sushi is super fresh, delicious and affordable.

Cozy sushi izakaya run by a lovely old couple turned out to be THE place to spend our last night in Naha. Fresh Hokkaido style (chef's from there) sushi and laid-back atmosphere.Loved the handmade origami we received at the end of dinner. Cash-only so bring enough or leave with regrets.

Certainly good value, because very large in sushi rice size, but okay taste. Run by an old couple, friendly, fun.

Great little spot to have sushi! Excellent value for money and the fish was very fresh and tasty! They even made a fresh miso soup when we asked (despite it not being on the menu or them having it)! Easy to find and they had an English menu!

A proper local izakaya run by a lovely husband and wife team. Please try to use some Japanese and if you’re friendly then you’ll get the same warm and friendly welcome from the owners! (We are from the UK). Great sake as well as sushi set and tempura, and on the menu was also some pork ribs, mackerel and other dishes. Definitely one to try if you want some fantastic local hospitality! Don’t expect some upscale/sanitised restaurant for tourists, this is a proper little bar with good food :). This really is an izakaya and not a restaurant - so make sure you know what you’re expecting! Thanks again to the owners for the great fun and making us feel welcome

Are you from out of town? Or maybe a local just looking for a good sushi dinner and friendly service? Well look no further. Their menu is limited but each dish is supreme. The service is OUTSTANDING. Personable, friendly and kind. Mom and pop style izakaya with cold beer and fresh fish. If I lived here I'd come every week!!!! Thanks for making us feel so special.

Very good sushi, quality food. The service is quite rigid and traditional (we must adapt to the "rules" of the place). Example: a family with not particularly noisy children was abruptly silenced; it is mandatory to take a drink and even if you manage to get water (we had to insist) it still costs 300 yen per person.Anyway, recommended.

It is a private festival and it was unfortunate.Besides, I also grilled mackerel .... ha how much it is empty and it is ã… ?

The sushi was very good and the owners so sweet. You should try the grilled mackerel and especially the grilled chicken which was unbelievably tasty.

Because it is an izakaya, one person will be asked to order a drink. But the sushi is a large plate of 1000~1500 baht, which is delicious and delicious. The special pork ribs are also delicious. We brought the children of the elementary school to the entrance. Before entering the door, the proprietress asked the children to be quiet to enter. The original feeling was that the boss was serious, but the children performed well. When they left, the boss gave them a bag of candy. It is a great dining experience to take a Chinese menu with the boss.

Food is really yummy! Simple menu. I would think that everything is good 👍🏻 Sushi was really big and fresh. Tempura so crispy and yet not oily. The table next to us was racing about their sashimi too. If we had one more night, we'll try the pork ribs! Owners are friendly and tried to interact with us even though their English is not very good. Cash only.

Easily the friendliest restaurant I have ever been to. Genuinely. It's a mom and pop sushi spot with really delicious soba as well. Both husband and wife were extremely accommodating to our newbie-ness. They made a point to engage with us and made us feel very welcome. Reasonable prices and delicious food. I would be a regular if I lived here.

The proprietress will speak English, people are very enthusiastic, the food is delicious, and the recommended Okinawa beer is very good.

Excellent food at reasonable prices, sashimi was fresh and the pork ribs were incredibly tender. Every customer has to order a drink each as this is an izakaya. The lady owner might come across as harsh at first but is actually very pleasant polite and made effort to interact with us in english and in explaining the dishes. We were given origami cranes that she folded when we left.

Sushi shop in Naha YodogawaAt first glance, Izakaya Aoi? I thought it was a very delicious sushi restaurant. Because the name is “Hamaton”, pork dishes? It seems that you might think, but the bag that the general from Hokkaido holds is exquisite! !As you can see in the picture, the material is also great! !There is a menu besides sushiIt is a very cheap shop with a low price.Okami is friendly and fun.When you go to Naha, you will want to go there.

Excellent food and quiet ambience

Lovely Japanese restaurant operated by a local Japanese couple! All of the dishes I tasted tonight have blown out my mind! Sashimi & Sushi are so fresh; Grilling macarel in front of you is such an eye candy, it tastes amazingly good too! The soup base for the Hot Soba is very yum, mouth full of fish bone flavour! Would highly recommend it to anyone who is seeking for quality Japanese food with reasonable budget! But be aware that there are limited seats here though, around 22 seats! So better arrive early!
